Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company develops Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system for real-time command and control, and is fielding next-generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) for seabed exploration and maritime operations.
The Product Sourcing Engineer will join the rapidly growing Maritime team in Costa Mesa, CA, driving strategic supply network development and cost management of Anduril's product hardware across their lifecycles. This role requires close collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders in engineering, quality, and manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting supplier selection leveraging approved supplier lists
- Partnering with strategic suppliers on concept scoping, feature trade-offs, total cost of ownership modeling, joint design development, and design simulation
- Developing and executing sourcing strategy through market knowledge, supplier rationalization, and commodity pricing
- Developing and consolidating manufacturing BOMs with Quality and Manufacturing teams
- Managing NPI component procurement to scale manufacturing operations
- Conducting value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility
- Completing BOM risk assessments and per-part analysis
- Reducing supply chain complexity through commonality optimization and component/supplier rationalization
- Leading cost engineering activities to align bottom-up cost curves with product cost targets
- Managing ad-hoc cost issues including tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation
- Designing and implementing new supply chain processes and systems for scale
- Managing project schedules, identifying critical path activities, and mitigating risks
- Holding teams accountable for deliverables and deadlines
- Establishing program structure, milestones, and operating rhythms
- Driving alignment across stakeholders and influencing without formal authority in high-stakes situations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (BSME, BSEE) or other related technical degree
- Background in design and development of mechanical and/or electronics devices
- Experience in advanced sourcing activities, including commodity/sourcing manager positions
- Supplier development experience (technology, process, supply chain)
- Early supplier engagement experience ahead of product/engineering requirement realization
- Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at component and product level
- Familiarity with developing high-tech products in high-mix, low-volume environments
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
