Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Product Sourcing Engineer to drive strategic supply network development and cost management for the Altius family of air-launched autonomous systems. You will be part of the Launched Effects team, responsible for scaling manufacturing and delivery of advanced defense platforms including the Altius-600 and Altius-700.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct supplier selection leveraging the approved supplier list and manage strategic supplier partnerships
- Partner with suppliers on concept scoping, feature trade-offs, should-cost modeling, and joint design development
- Develop and consolidate manufacturing BOMs in collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing teams
- Manage new product introduction (NPI) component procurement, ensuring on-time delivery at scale
- Manage CAPEX throughout the NPI phase
- Perform value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility
- Complete BOM risk assessments and identify alternate component sourcing strategies
- Ensure vendor component qualifications are completed before production ramp
- Drive complexity reduction through commonality optimization and supplier rationalization
- Lead cost engineering activities to align bottom-up cost curves with product targets, maximizing total cost of ownership
- Manage ad-hoc cost issues including tariffs, import/export costs, and inflation impacts
You will work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable systems at unprecedented speed. The role requires 5+ years of experience in design and development of electronics and/or mechanical devices, advanced sourcing activities, and supplier development. Experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing environments is highly valued.
