Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Product Sourcing Engineer to join the Launched Effects team responsible for scaling manufacturing and delivery of the Altius family of air-launched autonomous systems. The Altius platform (including Altius-600 and Altius-700) represents a premier air-launched effects capability for the U.S. military and allies, requiring precision manufacturing of advanced composites, complex avionics, and modular payload integrations for ISR, electronic warfare, and kinetic strike applications.
In this role, you will drive strategic supply network development and cost management across Anduril's product hardware lifecycles through cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams. Key responsibilities include conducting supplier selection leveraging the approved supplier list, partnering with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through concept scoping, feature trade-offs, should-cost modeling, and joint design development. You will develop and consolidate manufacturing BOMs, manage new product introduction (NPI) component procurement at scale, and oversee CAPEX throughout NPI phases.
Additional duties encompass value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility, completing BOM risk assessments with alternate component sourcing strategies, ensuring vendor component qualifications ahead of production, reducing complexity through commonality optimization and supplier rationalization, and leading cost engineering activities. You will work on a fast-moving, mission-driven team of manufacturing engineers, quality specialists, and production operations experts committed to deploying reliable systems at unprecedented speed.
Note: This position is permanently based in Costa Mesa, CA or Ashville, OH, but requires temporary relocation for a 3-month comprehensive training program (1 month in Santa Ana, CA, followed by approximately 2 months in Atlanta, GA). Anduril provides full corporate housing, transportation, and travel accommodations during the training period.
