Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join its autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) team in Quonset, Rhode Island. The company is fielding next-generation AUVs for seabed exploration and executing multi-million-dollar defense contracts while scaling production operations. In this role, you will define, develop, and execute quality processes for AUV integration, supporting the company's AS9100-compliant quality management system as it scales into a new production facility for the Dive-XL platform. You will work cross-functionally across product development, production, and field operations to ensure defense customer requirements are met. Key responsibilities include: - Execute the product quality engineering vision for component integration (sensors, PCBAs, cables, actuators, machined parts, structures) - Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards - Define and execute product build and inspection requirements across cross-functional teams - Lead non-conformance review (NCR) processes for vehicle integration, identifying defects and implementing corrective actions - Own root cause and corrective action (RCCA) processes, incident management, and Material Review Board (MRB) activities - Develop incoming inspection control plans in collaboration with design engineering to define Critical to Function (CTF) and Critical to Quality (CTQ) dimensions - Collaborate with production teams at other sites to standardize processes and techniques Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field, experience in engineering/manufacturing/quality in complex assembly environments, working knowledge of defense quality standards (AS9100), and familiarity with FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, and GD&T methodologies. You should have experience with mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes, PLM and MES systems, and statistical analysis tools. U.S. Secret security clearance eligibility is required.
