Salary: USD 112,000 - 149,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Anduril Intelligence Systems (AIS) division focuses on delivering specialized engineering and products for Intelligence Community customers, developing critically needed capabilities that address national security requirements.
As a Product Quality Engineer, you will define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high-quality and reliable compute solutions for complex customer programs. You will work cross-functionally with engineering teams designing, building, and delivering sophisticated systems. This role combines technical expertise with leadership to set quality objectives, build processes, and drive projects to completion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engage with product development teams to achieve quality expectations for AIS products through process development, verification, validation, and qualification of processes, parts, and sub-assemblies
- Drive clarity and resolution for development ambiguities related to product maturity, process stability, and field performance
- Champion the transition from new product introduction (NPI) to sustainable, high-rate manufacturing and supply chain
- Own elimination of product risk to improve reliability across the product lifecycle, from concept through development, manufacturing, and field use
- Ensure execution of product and process requirements; define and improve such requirements
- Work cross-functionally to define and execute the product roadmap
- Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities; review effectiveness and share lessons learned
- Lead product health data analysis and improvement activities; establish metrics for measuring quality and predictive factors
- Support continuous improvement of the Quality Management System; define and improve required documentation
- Support investigations, initiatives, and projects at team or organizational level
- Partner with production to ensure incoming material inspection, process control plans, and end-of-line testing capture essential quality requirements
- Open to travel between California headquarters and Ohio based on program needs
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar technical field
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- 5+ years of experience developing quality systems for high-volume, complex manufacturing environments and suppliers
- Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense or similar hardware
- Working knowledge of design review and quality management of precision mechanical parts & sub-assemblies, PCBA, harnessing, avionics, systems integration, composites, propulsion systems, and lethality systems
- Experience driving product quality and performance requirements to test and measurement system development; leading transition from engineering qualification to manufacturing variance testing
- Working knowledge of product development methodologies: FMEA, APQP, PPAP elements (MSA), and GD&T
- Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes
- Application of industry standards and best practices to meet government customer quality expectations
- Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion
- Analytical skills for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools (MatLab, JMP, Minitab, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in a technical field
- Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality for communications systems used by Intelligence Community customers
- Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements
- Experience with IPC standards
- Experience with government contracts and mil-standard requirements
- Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Jira, Tableau, and Altium (or other PCBA and harness design software)
