Baseten is an AI inference platform serving companies like Cursor, Notion, Abridge, and Writer. The company recently raised $1.5B in Series F funding and is building the infrastructure that enables developers and enterprises to run AI models in production at scale.
You'll join the Product Platform organization as a Software Engineer, owning customer-facing features end-to-end. This means working directly with customers to understand their problems, designing solutions, shipping them, and iterating based on production feedback. You'll be a peer to product and design teams, contributing strategic ideas rather than just implementing specs.
The Product Platform team builds enterprise-hardened products on top of Baseten's inference platform—the surfaces that customers, partners, and their agents interact with daily. You'll also contribute to developer productivity tools and agentic development platforms.
Key areas you might focus on include:
- Commercialization, billing, and partnership systems
- Developer productivity and agentic development tooling
- Enterprise controls (identity, access, governance, account lifecycle)
You'll own the full lifecycle: talking to customers to define problems, designing and shipping solutions, and iterating in production. You'll build scalable, production-grade systems—not one-off features. You'll ship in phases, validating with internal and external customers rather than betting on single big launches. You'll weigh competing requests, make clear prioritization calls based on impact, and take ownership of ambiguous problems with minimal process overhead.
Example projects include building enterprise RBAC, managing the OpenAI partnership integration, launching Baseten Hosted Tools, and implementing observability for LLM inference.
Requirements: The posting does not explicitly state years of experience or formal requirements. However, the role expects strong product and customer sense, the ability to own ambiguous problems end-to-end, peer-level collaboration with product and design, and the capability to pick up new problem areas quickly and grow scope as the team expands.
