Kpler is a global intelligence platform founded in 2014 that simplifies complex trade information across commodities, energy, and maritime sectors. With over 850 experts across 69 countries, the company transforms intricate data into actionable strategies for informed decision-making.
As Product Owner for Automotive Intelligence, you will own the product strategy and execution for a new vertical within Kpler's platform. You will sit within the Automotive Sector Squad and work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Market Intelligence teams to build a native automotive intelligence workspace.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the Automotive Intelligence product roadmap and backlog, translating sector strategy and validated customer needs into well-defined epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria across seven intelligence modules (trade flows and lane capacity, schedule reliability, fleet supply and renewal, charter rates and asset values, ports and terminals, fuel and emissions, CII, and bunkering).
- Prioritizing product initiatives by balancing customer value, commercial impact, technical effort, data readiness, and delivery constraints.
- Partnering with the Sector Lead, Data Engineers, and Automotive Analyst to translate market intelligence and business requirements into scalable product capabilities.
- Coordinating delivery across engineering and data teams, accounting for technical dependencies across AIS, ownership, emissions, and other underlying data sources.
- Defining and shaping the automotive workspace experience to integrate naturally within Kpler's platform, surface executive KPIs, and deliver actionable insights.
- Owning the product delivery cadence, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, release coordination, and stakeholder communication to ensure the Q4 2026 launch and subsequent roadmap remain on track.
- Conducting customer discovery and continuously incorporating feedback into product requirements and roadmap decisions.
- Defining and tracking product success metrics, measuring adoption, engagement, customer outcomes, and commercial performance against ARR and logo targets.
- Maintaining a healthy and predictable backlog with clear requirements, effective refinement, and strong collaboration across teams.
- Upholding strong Product and Engineering standards for quality, documentation, and ways of working as the squad scales.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of Product Owner or Product Management experience, ideally delivering B2B data, analytics, or SaaS products within a cross-functional Agile environment.
- Strong track record of translating strategy and customer needs into a prioritized roadmap, well-defined backlog, and clear product requirements, with a focus on delivering against deadlines.
- Experience working with data-heavy products and technical teams, with the ability to understand data sources, pipelines, technical dependencies, and their implications for product development.
- Strong experience in customer discovery, with the ability to translate customer insights and market feedback into actionable product requirements and roadmap decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Product, Engineering, Data, and customer-facing teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile product ownership, including backlog management, user story writing, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, release coordination, and roadmap planning.
- Strong data and analytical literacy, with the ability to interpret data, define meaningful product metrics, and measure outcomes and product adoption.
- Familiarity with product and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, roadmap management, and product analytics platforms.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across different disciplines and levels of seniority.
- A decisive and structured approach to prioritization, with the confidence to make trade-offs and clearly communicate the rationale behind product decisions.
- An ownership mindset, comfortable operating with ambiguity and working at pace in a new and evolving product area.
Nice to have:
- Experience or knowledge of maritime, shipping, logistics, automotive, commodities, or trade intelligence.
- Familiarity with AIS, vessel tracking, freight/charter markets, emissions, or port and terminal operations.
- Experience launching new products or modules within an existing platform.
