Entrata, a global leader in AI-driven property management technology since 2003, is seeking a Product Manager to own the sustainability and ESG product roadmap within its Utilities division. This role bridges utility and building energy data into trustworthy sustainability outcomes—including benchmarking, performance standards readiness, audit/retrocommissioning workflows, green energy understanding, and defensible ESG reporting for asset managers and sustainability teams.
You will partner closely with Utility Operations and Utility Expense Management product and engineering teams, engage with sophisticated customers weekly, and ship capabilities that reduce manual ESG compliance work while establishing a durable growth lane for Entrata's utilities business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop deep sustainability and ESG literacy in the built environment: explain and apply Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 concepts; master ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager benchmarking; understand Building Performance Standards (BPS), energy audits, retrocommissioning (RCx) workflows, and green energy/renewable procurement (RECs, green tariffs, on-site generation); stay current with GRESB, SASB, CRREM, LEED, and local benchmarking ordinances.
- Execute core product management craft in B2B/proptech: discovery, prioritization, clear requirements and acceptance criteria, release readiness, and engineering partnership without needing to be the engineer. Own ambiguous 0→1 and 1→n problems.
- Leverage multifamily or commercial real estate utility domain awareness: utility billing, commodities, vacancy/common area vs. resident cost allocation, and energy data workflows. Sustainability consultants with operator experience are welcome if product skills are strong.
- Proactively use company-approved GenAI tools to automate routine tasks and accelerate high-value deliverables; audit AI outputs for factual accuracy, brand alignment, and hallucination removal; maintain strict data governance and security protocols; craft clear, context-rich prompts for consistent results.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of GHG Protocol Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 concepts and real-world portfolio calculations (activity data, emission factors, location- vs. market-based Scope 2, common Scope 3 categories for real estate).
- Direct multifamily or commercial real estate operator/owner experience.
- GRESB or SASB reporting and document creation experience.
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in product management (or equivalent ownership) for B2B SaaS, proptech, utilitytech, or closely related domains—OR 5+ years in sustainability/energy consulting with clear evidence of shipping software products.
- Helpful (not required): CEM, LEED AP, WELL, or GHG accounting credentials/coursework.
- Experience with utility billing, submetering, vacancy cost recovery, or energy data platforms.
- Experience with local benchmarking ordinances or BPS programs (e.g., major US city/state programs).
