WorkWhile is a venture-backed marketplace platform (backed by Khosla Ventures, Inc. 5000 recognized) on a mission to revolutionize frontline work by connecting hourly workers with flexible employment opportunities. The platform uses AI to help businesses access high-quality talent while providing workers with same-day pay, free telehealth, upskilling, and schedule flexibility. The company is targeting the $650 billion staffing and recruiting market.
You will join as a Product Manager in a growth-focused role where your specific area of ownership will be determined by roadmap priorities. Current focus areas include launching a new worker pay card (a major financial services initiative for hourly workers) and improving worker onboarding and activation flows.
You will work directly with the CEO, Chief Product Officer, and Head of Product for Fintech and Worker Experience. As you build fluency, you'll transition to owning workstreams end-to-end from roadmap through execution.
Key responsibilities include:
**High-Priority Execution & Product Launch Support**
- Draft marketing collateral and in-app messaging to introduce workers to new product experiences
- Translate complex mechanics (compliance, partner requirements, financial product rules) into clear support playbooks and standard operating procedures
- Track cross-functional and partner dependencies to closure, identifying blockers early
**Funnel & Conversion Optimization**
- Partner with product and data science teams to diagnose where workers encounter friction in onboarding, W-2 enrollment, and activation
- Help scope, launch, and track A/B tests to improve conversion rates, working alongside engineering and data science
- Maintain conversion dashboards and reporting to track impact
**Full-Cycle PM Work (as you grow)**
- Lead discovery and scoping conversations with stakeholders on ambiguous problems
- Define and prioritize roadmap items; make clear calls on one-off fixes versus structural product gaps
- Write product specifications, define success metrics, and manage delivery with engineering from kickoff to ship
- Keep cross-functional stakeholders (GTM, Support, Operations) aligned on what's being built and why
You are a structured thinker who can navigate ambiguous, jargon-heavy problems and emerge with clear plans. You communicate sharply—writing clearly, synthesizing complexity for executive decision-making, and requiring minimal translation. You are execution-obsessed, driving work to completion while chasing details and following up independently. You are comfortable reading funnels, spotting breakage points, and framing testable hypotheses. You don't need fintech or product background—you need the horsepower to build fast. You are energized by ambiguity rather than stressed by it, and you have genuine empathy for the unique needs of frontline workers.
**Requirements:**
- 2+ years of experience in a highly analytical, customer-facing, or data-facing role (consulting, strategy, analytics, engineering, operations, or product) with a clear trajectory toward product ownership
- Ability to work from the San Francisco office 3 days per week
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through across multiple concurrent workstreams
- Comfortable working directly with engineering, design, legal, and external partners
- AI-native approach with experience automating workflows and tasks
- Fintech, banking, or compliance experience is a plus but not required
