Alinea is democratizing financial intelligence for everyday investors through AI. The company has grown from a class project to an AI investing companion with over 3 million downloads, backed by $40M+ in funding from investors including Y Combinator and Play Ventures, and featured in Forbes, The New York Times, and Fortune.
You'll be Alinea's first Product Manager—the connective tissue between every function. This is a build-from-scratch role where you'll define how the product works, partnering directly with Engineering, Design, Growth, and Investment to turn strategy into shipped products. You'll own projects end-to-end from concept through launch, write specs that align the team on problems and success metrics, work alongside engineers and designers daily to clear blockers, and maintain structure in a fast-moving environment while staying grounded in user feedback and data.
The opportunity: Robo-advisors deliver generic portfolios to everyone. Real financial advice remains gated behind six-figure minimums. Most people navigate major financial decisions through Google searches. AI can finally close that gap with a personalized guide that understands individual situations. That product doesn't exist yet—Alinea is building it, and the next 8 months will be decisive.
You'll work directly with founders and leadership from day one. There's no team to hide behind; you're responsible for turning rough ideas into working products in an ambiguous, under-resourced environment.
Benefits include competitive salary and equity, unlimited PTO plus paid company holidays, and medical/dental/vision coverage. The role is hybrid with 4 days per week in the NYC office.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years in product management, with at least 1 year at a high-growth startup
- Proven track record of taking rough ideas to working products in ambiguous, under-resourced environments (ideally as first or only PM at a Series A–D startup; founders and ex-founders welcome)
- Led at least one successful product or business line, working closely with engineers and designers on consumer or B2B software
- Comfortable with chaos: hands-on, resourceful, able to create order without waiting for structure
- Grounded in data: know what to track and use data to decide, not just report
- Real empathy for users, translated instinctively into product decisions
- Fintech fluency: understand financial products, regulation, and user behavior in regulated spaces (direct fintech experience is a plus)
- AI fluency: use AI tools (Cursor, Claude, Claude Code, etc.) as part of your working process
