Wayve is building an AI platform for autonomous driving using end-to-end learning from real-world experience. The company pioneers an approach where vehicles learn to drive by understanding their environment, rather than relying on hand-coded rules or pre-mapped environments.
In this role, you will lead a cross-functional team of engineers, researchers, and product managers without formal authority, providing clarity, removing blockers, and motivating the team through complex, ambiguous problems. You'll engage deeply with technical details across AI/ML, autonomy, and embodied AI, debating trade-offs credibly with senior researchers and engineers while bringing structured thinking to complex technical decisions.
Your responsibilities include independently owning a substantial work package end-to-end—defining the problem, setting strategy, sequencing work, and leading the team to ship outcomes that advance the AI Driver product. You'll translate R&D progress and customer needs into a clear product roadmap, sequencing capabilities to maximize impact and de-risk delivery. You'll also set, track, and report on clear KPIs and milestones, establishing the operating rhythm needed for team delivery.
You'll communicate crisply across diverse audiences, from deep technical reviews with engineers to executive updates with leadership to customer-facing conversations. You'll listen actively to engineers, partners, and customers, turning insights into better decisions and stronger team alignment.
Wayve operates a hybrid model with main hubs in London, Sunnyvale, Yokohama, Herzliya, Vancouver, and Leonberg, combining in-person collaboration with focused remote work. The company is not a mature, fully-structured organization; much of how it works is still being written, and you'll help shape it.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Independently owned a substantial work package and led a cross-functional team to deliver it, taking responsibility for outcomes and proactively working through blockers
- Strong technical depth, ideally in AI/ML, autonomy, robotics, or another deep-tech domain, with ability to engage credibly with senior engineers and researchers
- Proven track record in product management, technical programme management, or similar role working on complex, cutting-edge technical products
- Careful listener and clear communicator who can motivate and energize a team through ambiguity
- Work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and be comfortable making decisions with imperfect information, then adapting as you learn
- Passion for autonomy and willingness to learn (not all requirements must be met)
