Vocca builds AI voice agents that transform how patients and doctors connect. The platform answers 100% of incoming calls at medical centres, handles appointment scheduling, and frees up staff to focus on patient care. With $20M in Series A funding, 15,000+ providers already using the platform, and close to 1 million calls processed monthly, Vocca is scaling rapidly. The core challenge: every medical centre has unique rules about who can book appointments, with which practitioners, at what times, and how to handle urgent cases. Today these rules live in prompts and in the heads of the ops team, creating a bottleneck. The company is building a platform to remove that bottleneck through structured configuration rather than free-text prompts. In this role, you will own: - The scenario engine and its configuration model—a product that handles the rules of thousands of medical centres without becoming unmaintainable. - The self-serve onboarding experience, from backend to dashboard. Internal tooling has already reduced clinic deployment from days to under an hour; the next step is zero developer involvement for standard onboarding. - The dashboard used daily by medical staff. The company takes frontend quality seriously and follows a design system written in code. - Features end-to-end: from spec with the ops team through production, including fixes and root-cause analysis. The engineering culture is experimental and data-driven. You ship the version that works, then fix the last 1% when it shows up. The team uses AI seriously—Claude Max is provided, and a 3-month migration was completed in 2 weeks. You'll work closely with the ops team deploying clinics and the sales team selling the product. Stack: TypeScript everywhere (Node, monorepo), PostgreSQL, design system written in code. The team is migrating remaining Python services to TypeScript. Expectations: - Week 1: Onboarded on the stack, first dashboard improvement in production. - Month 1: Own one feature end-to-end without mockups or hand-holding. - 3 months: First version of scenario engine in production; standard clinics can onboard without developer tickets. - 6–12 months: Most new clinics live within 7 days; clinics configure their own rules in the dashboard. Location: Paris, rue d'Alexandrie (Sentier), hybrid with 3 days in office. BSPCE equity provided. REQUIREMENTS: - 3 to 8 years building full-stack products in production at fast-growing startups. - You have stayed long enough somewhere to see a system live, break, and improve, and you learned from it. - TypeScript is your main language (backend and frontend), not a line on your CV. You have a real eye for interface quality and the discipline to follow a design system. - You think about product and business as much as code; you know how to build systems that scale under volume. - You move without waiting for a perfect frame: you try, propose, ship, and ask for help when stuck. - You had good practices before AI: solid system design, clean refactoring, and a good nose for risks in generated code that nobody tested. - Not a fit if you need every feature fully specified before starting.
