Helsing is a defense AI company on a mission to protect democracies through technological leadership. This is a founding procurement role building the company's first comprehensive technology procurement strategy from scratch.
You will establish centralized oversight of all technology spending—Software, SaaS, Cloud & Compute, IT Hardware, Engineering Tooling (CAD/CAE/Simulation), Security Tools, and Connectivity. Your core responsibilities include:
• Building and executing Helsing's first technology procurement category strategy across all technology domains
• Creating complete transparency by mapping raw creditor and spend data to establish vendor relationships, contract terms, and renewal milestones
• Leading high-stakes negotiations in the high six-figure range, including Enterprise SaaS renewals, Hyperscaler commitments, and custom enterprise software agreements
• Analyzing complex pricing models (consumption-based, tiered structures, Committed-Use Discounts, egress fees, true-ups) to optimize Total Cost of Ownership
• Partnering with IT, Engineering, and Legal teams as an equal to draft, review, and align on Master Services Agreements and Statements of Work
• Pragmatically establishing procurement processes in a greenfield environment, balancing speed with structure
You bring 5+ years of strategic procurement or sourcing experience with focus on IT, Software, or Cloud. You have independently led and closed complex negotiations in the high six-figure range. You possess deep understanding of complex tech pricing structures and can build TCO models confidently. You have advanced Excel modeling skills and can organize raw spend data into actionable insights. You understand contracts deeply and can work as a trusted peer with Legal and IT. You've thrived in greenfield or fast-paced scale-up environments. You are business fluent in German and English (written and verbal). You are willing and eligible to undergo German governmental security clearance.
