Boom Supersonic is hiring a Procurement Manager to own the end-to-end procurement of materials, components, and services for aerospace production. This is an active, strategic role—not order placement. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, drive cost savings, and ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for materials, components, and services across assigned categories; negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms
- Perform cost analysis and comparison to ensure best value across all purchases
- Issue and manage purchase orders from creation through delivery and invoice resolution
- Host and conduct supplier status calls for make-to-spec procurements
- Partner with engineering, operations, and finance to understand material needs and align procurement strategy
- Identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities across spend categories
- Manage supplier contracts, ensure compliance with agreed terms, and monitor supplier performance
- Resolve supply disruptions, shortages, and escalations quickly
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, purchase orders, and receipts
- Manage master data elements for suppliers and parts
- Partner with engineering to own and maintain the BOM (bill of materials)—every part needs a plan, and you're accountable for ensuring it has one
- Help identify and implement process improvements for purchasing efficiency
You thrive in this role if you treat supplier relationships as strategic assets, move fast and make decisions with incomplete information, own problems end-to-end rather than hand them off, and are comfortable in a lean, high-accountability environment where bureaucracy is not an excuse for delay.
Requirements:
- Prior ERP system experience required
- Purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally in aerospace or manufacturing
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in different purchasing systems and spreadsheets
- Strong communicator—able to clearly relay requirements and status between internal teams and suppliers
- Detail-oriented with persistence to follow up until the job is done
- Thrives in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift daily
- Demonstrates strong work ethic, ambition, and effective collaboration skills
- Excels in a high-energy, independent, and challenging work environment
- ITAR Requirement: Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
