Salary: USD 276,960 - 363,510 / annual

Suno is building the world's first creative entertainment platform for music creation, backed by leading investors including Bond Capital, Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and NVIDIA's venture arm. The company is the fastest-growing consumer entertainment company and leader in AI music. You will build Suno's privacy and AI governance function from the ground up. This is a leadership role where you'll set technical direction for how the company handles data, permissions, and AI governance across its platform, models, and agents. You'll design and operate infrastructure that enforces policy at the point of use and verifies outcomes like data retention and deletion. Key responsibilities include: - Building policy foundations for data handling, permitted uses, and AI governance in partnership with Legal - Owning data discovery, classification, and permissions mapping across product, analytics, and vendor systems - Designing and operating governance controls across products, data platforms, models, and agents to enforce consent, access, and data-sharing rules - Leading verified user rights operations including access requests, corrections, deletions, and consent management - Hiring and growing a dedicated privacy engineering team to scale this work across the company - Embedding responsible data handling practices into how Suno builds new models and features You'll work closely with Legal and Product teams while building and managing your own engineering organization. REQUIREMENTS: Must-haves: - 8-10 years of hands-on software engineering experience with technical depth to build and ship enforcement infrastructure, not just define policy - Deep experience in privacy engineering or data governance, including working familiarity with regulatory frameworks like GDPR and CCPA - Experience as an engineering manager who has maintained real technical depth, or as a Staff+ engineer ready to grow into people management Nice-to-haves: - Experience with AI/ML governance, model evaluation pipelines, or generative AI systems - Background at a consumer tech company at scale or one with significant European user base - Prior experience as an early or founding privacy/governance hire at a growing company
