Form Energy is seeking a Principal Strategic Capacity Planner to serve as the strategic architect for company-level production planning. This role bridges top-down business strategy with floor-level execution at Form Energy's 550,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Weirton, WV, where the company produces iron-air battery systems for grid-scale energy storage.
You will own the company's long-range strategic build plan spanning 6 months to 5 years, developing and maintaining production roadmaps that translate executive directives into detailed operational and staffing plans. Key responsibilities include running complex scenario analyses (e.g., evaluating new production lines, shift models, facility scaling), modeling resource requirements, and communicating capacity constraints and capital expenditure needs to leadership.
Beyond planning, you will serve as the business owner and technical architect for Form Energy's internal build planning software application. You'll identify opportunities to integrate AI-driven enhancements, automate forecasting, and optimize scenario modeling. You'll partner with software engineering and IT to guide the development roadmap for planning tools, future-proofing the planning ecosystem.
Cross-functional collaboration is central to the role. You'll work closely with Programs, Design, and Production Planning teams to ensure master build plans reflect the latest design iterations, program timelines, and operational realities. You'll communicate strategic outcomes to executives and ensure smooth handoffs to tactical execution teams.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or Computer Science. 8+ years of experience in strategic capacity planning, master scheduling, or SIOP in complex manufacturing. Proven experience maintaining, developing, or heavily optimizing planning software. Experience integrating AI or machine learning into supply chain workflows is highly preferred. You'll need excellent cross-functional leadership skills, the ability to translate complex scenarios into actionable plans, and strong communication abilities to influence stakeholders from shop floor to C-suite.
Form Energy offers competitive salaries, stock options, 100% medical/dental/vision premiums for employees (80% for dependents), at least 12 weeks paid parental leave, and generous vacation. Relocation assistance is available.
