Stash is a fintech app that combines investing, banking, and personalized financial guidance for everyday Americans. The company is seeking a Principal Product Manager for Engagement to own strategy and delivery for the in-app experiences that help users decide what to invest in, how much to allocate, and what actions to take next.
As a senior individual contributor reporting to the Head of Product, you will set product strategy, write PRDs for Design and Engineering, define success metrics, run experiments using Mixpanel and Looker, and ship changes that drive measurable improvements in usage, retention, and subscription value. You will partner closely with Design, Engineering, Data, Marketing, Compliance, and other product managers. Key responsibilities include owning strategy for web and mobile engagement surfaces, instrumenting funnels and running A/B tests to validate hypotheses, working cross-functionally when customer journeys span multiple teams (e.g., activation to investing to subscription habits), aligning lifecycle messaging with in-app experiences, navigating a regulated fintech environment with compliance and legal partners, coaching other PMs through critique and pairing, and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day PM work.
This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week on-site in the New York office to collaborate with stakeholders and strengthen team dynamics.
Requirements:
- 8+ years in product management with senior ownership of a consumer mobile and/or web product
- Demonstrated track record shipping and iterating on consumer apps with quantified user and business impact
- Proven experience driving engagement, retention, or subscription value
- Strong experimentation practice and fluency with product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Looker, or similar)
- Clear communication skills when scope is ambiguous; ability to prioritize by customer value, business impact, and effort
- Strong partnership skills with engineering, design, marketing, and data teams
- Current use of AI in PM workflow or readiness to adopt
- Comfort owning outcomes end-to-end as an individual contributor
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with subscription or recurring-revenue consumer businesses
- Background in fintech, investing, banking, or other regulated consumer products
- Experience building products around habits and automation
