Courier Health is building the future of patient engagement for life sciences companies, helping patients living with chronic and rare diseases navigate their healthcare journey. The company's software supports biopharma companies in patient support programs, from diagnosis through therapy initiation and ongoing care.
As Principal Product Manager for API & Integrations, you will own the strategic transformation of Courier's integration capabilities from a bespoke, implementation-heavy function into a scalable, repeatable product platform. Your mandate spans four core areas:
**Platform Standardization & Reusability**: Define where Courier standardizes versus configures across diverse data sources (hubs, specialty pharmacies, claims systems, CRMs, field systems). Convert patterns from past implementations into shared data models, reusable connectors, and platform primitives that cut weeks from time-to-live and prevent each new customer from requiring custom architecture.
**API & Ecosystem Strategy**: Own the public API and webhook layer—what gets exposed, how developers build against it, and how contracts evolve. Establish security and quality as core product requirements (authentication, scoped access, auditability, versioning, contract testing). Make strategic decisions about when Courier builds connectors, enables partners to build them, or leverages third-party infrastructure. Build the tooling, documentation, certification, and operating model that enable a partner marketplace.
**Data Quality & Observability**: Design ingestion monitoring, reconciliation, failure states, and self-service remediation so issues surface before customers discover them. Define what healthy data flow looks like and make it visible to program operators.
**Roadmap & Alignment**: Translate company strategy, customer needs, technical foundations, and commercial priorities into a clear investment sequence. Distinguish reusable product needs from one-off requests, make explicit tradeoffs, and align Product, Engineering, Implementation, and Sales.
Courier is an office-first company based in NYC, requiring in-person collaboration 4 days per week. The team values culture, craft, and customer obsession.
**Requirements**:
- Proven track record building and scaling APIs, integrations, data products, or developer platforms for enterprise customers
- Experience turning bespoke customer work into reusable products that improved launch speed, reliability, adoption, or cost to serve
- Strong technical judgment across data models, API design, integration patterns, observability, and failure recovery; engineers view you as a rigorous partner
- Treat security, privacy, and data quality as design requirements from day one, especially with sensitive health data crossing organizational boundaries
- Proactive relationship builder comfortable with vendor partnerships and integration work
- Sharp product decision-making that balances customer needs, commercial value, technical foundations, and platform leverage
- Clear communication across engineering, client IT, commercial teams, and executives, especially on hard tradeoffs
- Thrive with autonomy and ambiguity; build context quickly; hold yourself accountable to measurable outcomes
**Bonus qualifications**:
- Experience building or scaling integration marketplaces, app ecosystems, or partner programs
- Knowledge of patient support programs, specialty pharmacy, hub services, claims, or healthcare interoperability standards
- Experience with Salesforce, Veeva, CRM ecosystems, or iPaaS tooling
- Background building developer-facing products or shipping in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, GxP)
