Bitwarden is seeking a Principal Implementation Engineer to join its Customer Support team, serving enterprise customers across EMEA. This is a remote role based in the UK, working with a distributed team.
You will function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Bitwarden's identity security platform, leading technical planning and execution of enterprise deployments. Your responsibilities include advising customers on industry best practices for password management, secrets management, and passwordless authentication; serving as a dedicated technical point of contact for named enterprise accounts; and collaborating with Customer Engagement Managers to ensure successful post-sales implementations.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead technical planning and execution of new deployments, establishing best practices for large enterprise engagements
- Advise customers on the full stack of Bitwarden and general security best practices
- Serve as dedicated customer point of contact through ticketing and email systems
- Participate in quarterly business reviews, conducting environment audits and positioning new features
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to triage bug reports and feature requests
- Guide knowledge sharing among Implementation Engineers and contribute to internal documentation
- Lead internal projects including customer environment replication, third-party integrations, and automation development
- Occasionally represent Bitwarden at customer meetings and industry events (some travel required)
You bring excellent English communication, strong problem-solving skills, and empathy for supporting customers and team members. You have prior experience as a Systems Engineer, Implementation Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or IT Infrastructure Engineer. Familiarity with Linux/Windows/macOS, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), identity providers (Active Directory, Okta, Azure Entra ID), and networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, TLS/SSL, SAML, OpenID Connect) is preferred.
