Instructure is seeking a Principal Business Operations Manager to lead strategic operational initiatives and drive organizational efficiency. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, requiring someone who can optimize complex business processes, align cross-functional teams, and deliver measurable impact at scale.
You will own the full lifecycle of operational projects—from conception through completion—analyzing existing processes to identify inefficiencies and designing solutions for optimization and automation. You'll develop and monitor KPIs and operational metrics to inform strategic decision-making, collaborate with senior leadership across Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Finance to align operational strategies with business objectives, and champion best practices in operational management including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Key responsibilities include facilitating cross-functional communication to ensure seamless execution of initiatives, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for executive stakeholders, mentoring junior team members to foster a culture of operational excellence, evaluating and recommending new technologies and tools, and managing vendor relationships to support operational needs.
You bring 10+ years of progressive experience in business operations, strategic operations, or management consulting, ideally within SaaS or technology. You have a proven track record of leading complex operational projects with significant business impact, expertise in process improvement methodologies and change management, and strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Excel, and CRM/ERP systems like Salesforce. You're a strategic thinker who can solve complex problems in fast-paced environments, communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and mentor team members. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or related field is required; an MBA is preferred. Experience in agile environments is a plus.
