As Principal Algorithm Developer, you will design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable AI algorithms and agentic workflows tailored to real-world clinical challenges. You'll work with complex medical data, ensuring reliability and performance of algorithms in production environments. Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement AI algorithms and agentic workflows for clinical text analysis and decision support
- Prepare, process, and analyze complex medical data to support algorithm development and validation
- Ensure reliability, performance, accuracy, and continuous improvement of production algorithms
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Clinical Specialists to translate clinical needs into data-driven solutions
- Research, develop, and integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) to extract insights from medical texts
- Lead technical decisions impacting your domain and related systems across the organization
- Mentor and develop algorithm developers through technical guidance and design reviews
- Stay current with advancements in GenAI, LLMs, and Deep Learning
- Participate in seminars, book clubs, and conferences
Technical stack includes: Python, NLP/LLMs (Pydantic, Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy, Amazon Bedrock), AWS, Docker, and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
The Tel Aviv office is located at Menachem Begin 150, near Arlozorov and Ha'Shalom train stations. The role operates on a hybrid model with a recommendation of two days per week in-office. Viz.ai is remote-first across the US and EU.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on algorithm development experience using Python
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles and clean, efficient coding practices
- Extensive experience with NLP, LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows
- Proven experience deploying, delivering, and maintaining AI algorithms in production environments
- Experience developing and deploying deep learning models (CNNs, ViTs, VLMs) for medical data classification, segmentation, and object detection
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams with product managers, clinicians, and engineers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- AWS experience
- Medical domain experience
- M.Sc. or higher in Computer Science or related scientific discipline
