OpenAI is building advanced AI infrastructure and seeks a Power Land Developer to support the Site Readiness & Development team. This individual contributor role owns day-to-day development execution across 1–3 active powered-land sites, translating technical findings into clear schedule, budget, and risk implications for portfolio decisions.
Key responsibilities include managing utility applications and interconnection follow-through, scoping and managing external studies and consultant workstreams, tracking development schedules and risk registers, and preparing handoff packages for opportunities advancing to deeper diligence or execution. The role requires strong coordination across land, environmental, economic development, and community affairs teams, as well as building repeatable playbooks for powered-land development across geographies.
You will partner with the Development & Power Project Lead and internal stakeholders to align project advancement, manage multi-party workstreams with developers, utilities, consultants, and agencies, and escalate material blockers or trade-offs. The position demands the ability to track multiple complex sites concurrently, translate uncertainty into clear actions, and maintain strong documentation and communication throughout the development lifecycle.
Required qualifications include 6+ years in energy infrastructure, energy project development, site development, data center development, or related project delivery roles. You should have a strong understanding of utility coordination, interconnection processes, and development scheduling, with demonstrated experience managing complex multi-party workstreams and translating technical findings into actionable business implications.
