Halter is a venture-backed agtech company transforming livestock grazing through connected wearables and precision farming technology. The company is backed by tier-1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, and DCVC, and is scaling global production while improving product and manufacturing capabilities.
As PLM & Document Control Manager, you will own the systems, records, and planning visibility that support Halter's engineering and manufacturing operations. This is a systems and coordination role—not people management initially, and not technical approval authority.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administering the Arena PLM deployment: configuration, lifecycles, revisions, roles, permissions, supplier access, training, and data quality
- Maintaining weekly forward BOM plans for Supply Chain, providing clear visibility of upcoming changes, validation state, implementation timing, and build impact
- Managing traceability between Onshape, Altium, and Arena; publishing controlled documents to Google Workspace as versioned, read-only copies
- Maintaining accurate BOM, part-number, revision, lifecycle, validation, waiver/deviation, and supplier-document records
- Building and running registers for waivers, in-flight changes, document currency, missing records, and forward BOM planning
- Co-defining release-boundary conventions with Engineering and Quality, ensuring standards are easy to follow and consistently applied
- Providing clear status reporting to support decision-making across teams
You bring exceptional attention to detail and follow-through; you notice missing fields, stale revisions, expired waivers, and incomplete records. You have hands-on experience administering PLM, ERP, QMS, document-control, technical-records, or similar structured, high-consequence records environments. Arena experience is valuable but discipline matters more than platform. You have enough technical literacy to be credible with Engineering and Supply Chain—understanding BOMs, revisions, HPN/MPN, traceability, validation state, controlled documents, and clear-to-build planning. You communicate clearly in writing, exercise sound judgment, and follow up persistently until items close. You're willing to travel occasionally to suppliers and production sites for onboarding, audits, and problem-solving.
