Astro Mechanica is a vertically integrated aerospace company developing supersonic aircraft and propulsion systems. As the first dedicated PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) hire, you will own the digital backbone that enables the company to design, manufacture, and deliver aircraft at scale.
You will architect, implement, and continuously improve the engineering systems that support product development, including Siemens Teamcenter, NX, and related enterprise applications. Your responsibilities span two complementary areas: (1) hands-on support for immediate user needs and system troubleshooting, and (2) strategic design of scalable workflows, automation, and processes that accelerate engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operations as the company grows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the architecture and operation of Teamcenter, NX, and supporting engineering systems
- Design scalable workflows, standards, and automation to improve velocity across product development
- Configure and extend Teamcenter using BMIDE, APIs, scripting, and custom development
- Evaluate and implement make-versus-buy decisions for engineering tools
- Build integrations that enable seamless product data flow across the organization
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems spanning software, infrastructure, and engineering workflows
- Define the long-term roadmap for engineering systems while remaining hands-on in execution
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; 5+ years administering, developing, or architecting PLM systems in product development; hands-on experience with Siemens Teamcenter, NX, and BMIDE; proficiency in Python, APIs, or scripting for automation; experience implementing ERP and enterprise engineering systems; strong knowledge of product lifecycle management, engineering change management, configuration management, and product data management principles; experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams; excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
