Turquoise Health, a Series C healthcare price transparency platform backed by a16z and other top-tier VCs, is hiring a Platform Operations Engineer to join its growing Platform Engineering team. You'll help build and operate the infrastructure supporting real-world healthcare outcomes, working with experienced engineers to establish solid practices around observability, reliability, deployment, and scalability. In this role, you'll support platform infrastructure by managing the container environment on Amazon EKS, working with GitOps workflows using ArgoCD, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines through GitHub Actions. You'll contribute to reliability by tracking SLIs and SLOs, participating in on-call rotations and incident response, and supporting root cause analysis and disaster recovery planning. You'll also support observability by maintaining the monitoring and logging stack using Datadog, Sentry, and CloudWatch, giving engineering teams visibility into system health. As the platform scales, you'll collaborate on infrastructure decisions, help build internal tooling and self-service workflows, and develop your skills alongside experienced engineers. This is a strong fit if you have a few years of SRE or DevOps experience and are looking to deepen your skills, take on more responsibility, and help shape how the team's practices and tooling evolve. You'll have real input into decisions, room to bring ideas to the table, and support from experienced engineers as you grow. The company is remote-first, US-based, and operates on US business hours. REQUIREMENTS: - 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles - Working knowledge of core AWS services (VPC, IAM, EKS, RDS) and solid understanding of cloud networking and security fundamentals - Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Crossplane - Comfortable using GitHub and GitHub Actions as part of CI/CD and automation pipelines - Exposure to running Kubernetes clusters and managing application deployments through GitOps workflows (ArgoCD/Flux) and Helm Charts - Familiarity with observability tooling such as Datadog, Sentry, CloudWatch, or Grafana, including building alerts, dashboards, or log pipelines - Experience writing Python scripts to automate infrastructure tasks, glue systems together, or handle custom workflows - Comfortable working independently in a remote setup, asking questions when needed, and maintaining momentum without close supervision - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience (non-traditional backgrounds welcome) NICE TO HAVES: - AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications
