The Technology team builds the systems and infrastructure that power Revolut's platform. As a Platform Engineer, you will contribute to core backend systems, including the event store and transactional infrastructure used across the entire engineering organization. Your work will have company-wide impact—improvements at this foundational layer save significant time for teams throughout the company.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and scale core backend systems
- Write high-throughput, concurrent code at production scale
- Work on problems that affect multiple engineering teams
- Review code and mentor other engineers on system design
Requirements:
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or similar field
- Production fluency in Java, or deep expertise in another backend language (Kotlin, Scala, Python, Go) with readiness to work primarily in Java
- Proven track record building core systems or foundational platforms that other engineers depend on
- Meaningful experience with distributed systems at scale
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English
Nice to have:
- Background in fintech or high-volume transactional environments
- Experience in startups or scale-ups
- Production event sourcing experience
- Open-source contributions to frameworks, libraries, or developer tooling
