Salary: USD 230,000 - 300,000 / annual

Brellium is an AI-powered healthcare platform that helps providers deliver safer, higher-quality care by identifying clinical and compliance risks in real time. The company audits clinical notes against millions of criteria daily, processing billions of tokens through AI pipelines. Founded in 2021, Brellium is a Series A company with $30M+ in funding, serving over 250,000 providers across all 50 states. You will be the founding platform engineer, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role where you'll own the infrastructure function and set its roadmap in collaboration with engineering leadership. Key responsibilities include: - Managing and scaling infrastructure that runs audits on clinical notes across millions of criteria daily - Defining and supporting infrastructure patterns to improve latency (e.g., real-time audits), reliability, and cost-effectiveness - Improving developer productivity through CI/CD, local environments, and testing infrastructure - Simplifying observability and driving key reliability metrics across all services, including AI pipelines processing billions of tokens - Managing infrastructure and developer tooling spend - Stewarding security posture (SOC 2, HIPAA compliance) - Consolidating SSO, identity, device management, and access controls across internal tools You should have owned the infrastructure/platform function before, have informed opinions about infrastructure, and understand product engineering work deeply. You measure success by whether other engineers actually use your work. You're comfortable with startup ambiguity, biased toward ownership, and thrive with high autonomy. Tech stack includes AWS, Vercel, Azure Foundry, Claude Platform, OpenAI Platform, Gemini, and Clickhouse. Applications are written in Python and TypeScript. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years where platform engineering was your primary work - Built production infrastructure at an early-stage startup - Depth in AWS and infrastructure-as-code - Production-level coding ability in Python and/or TypeScript - Experience managing cloud billing toward target numbers - Experience managing software compliance audits (e.g., SOC 2) NICE TO HAVE: - Healthcare or regulated industry experience with sensitive data handling - LLM infrastructure experience (inference cost management, gateways, tracing/evals) - Identity provider rollout experience (e.g., Okta) - Mentoring or small team leadership experience
