Applied Aerospace designs, fabricates, and tests mission-critical aerospace components for leading innovators including SpaceX, NASA, Northrop Grumman, and Boeing. The Planner Supervisor oversees production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure optimal efficiency and timely execution of operational goals.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining production and material schedules, releasing and managing work orders through the MRP system, and coordinating with production teams to minimize bottlenecks. The role requires adjusting schedules in response to demand fluctuations and supply chain disruptions, preparing production reports, and expediting operations when delays occur. The Planner Supervisor will manage their own subset of planner duties while supervising and guiding a planning team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
Cross-functional collaboration is essential—the role acts as a key liaison between production, procurement, sales, and logistics to align planning with business objectives. The Planner Supervisor facilitates meetings to review production schedules and resolve issues proactively, and confers regularly with Program Managers to determine project status.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent with 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing planning or a related field (college education is a plus). The ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in planning software and MRP systems, advanced Excel and data analysis skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication and leadership capabilities. The role demands the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and time-management skills.
The position is based in Stockton, CA, operating on a 9/80 work week schedule with every other Friday off. Work is performed onsite in a temperature-controlled office environment with occasional lifting of items under 25 lbs. Due to ITAR compliance requirements, only U.S. persons (citizens, permanent residents, refugees, or asylees) are eligible.
