Remote is a global employment platform that helps organizations recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly. This Payroll Specialist Lead role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely execution of payroll processes across a distributed, global operation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering payroll with >99% deadline adherence and >99.5% accuracy, implementing strategic checks and controls for regulatory compliance
- Managing and optimizing the Zendesk ticketing system, ensuring tickets are assigned within 24 hours and identifying root causes of recurring issues
- Owning SOPs, checklists, and internal resources, continuously improving documentation and aligning with company best practices
- Providing cross-team training and mentorship to Implementation and PCST teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning
- Making proactive decisions and suggesting solutions with broader business impact
- Delivering comprehensive global client support and stakeholder management
The ideal candidate brings several years of regional or global payroll operations experience with deep knowledge of global payroll best practices. You should be comfortable managing teams with an empowering, hands-off leadership style while fostering collaboration. Technical proficiency with payroll software (SAP, Excel, Google Sheets) is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced international environments, adapt quickly to change, and are passionate about process optimization and efficiency. Fluency in English (written and spoken) and comfort with asynchronous, remote work in a globally distributed team are required.
