Paytm is seeking a Payments Finance & Reconciliation Manager to lead financial operations across its payment processing business in Luxembourg. This is a hands-on management role combining deep payment accounting expertise with reconciliation oversight and financial controls.
You will own end-to-end accounting for payment transaction flows across acquiring channels, ensuring accurate recognition of transaction volumes, merchant fees, interchange, scheme charges, and related revenues and costs. You'll map and record payment processor and scheme settlement reports into the general ledger, oversee settlement and safeguarding accounts, and review payment-related journal entries for monthly and year-end close accuracy.
A critical part of the role is establishing and maintaining the financial reconciliation and control framework that safeguards client funds. You'll review and sign off on daily and periodic reconciliations between internal ledgers, processor reports, scheme reports, settlement accounts, and bank statements. You'll set escalation thresholds for reconciliation breaks, investigate root causes, and serve as the Finance escalation point for complex settlement issues with processors, banking partners, and internal teams.
You'll also oversee payroll accounting and statutory compliance, support monthly/quarterly/annual close processes under Lux GAAP and IFRS, and contribute to CSSF and regulatory reporting on safeguarding and payment activities. External and internal audit support, including preparation of reconciliations and supporting evidence, falls within scope.
Beyond transaction accounting, you'll produce management information on transaction volumes, payment revenues, transaction costs, and reconciliation performance. You'll support monthly management and Board reporting with analysis of payment economics and emerging trends, and provide financial insight to the CFO on commercial and operational decisions.
As the business scales, you'll establish scalable processes and SOPs for payment accounting and reconciliation, drive automation of high-volume processes to reduce manual work, and support implementation of Finance systems. You'll work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Technology, and external partners to embed financial controls into new payment products from inception.
