Bastion provides regulated infrastructure for holding, moving, and issuing stablecoins. The company combines custodial wallets, global payment orchestration, and stablecoin issuance into a single platform, operating through regulated entities with compliance and risk controls built in.
As a Payment Operations Associate, you'll sit at the center of daily money movement across Bastion's payments and stablecoin infrastructure. Working with the Payment Operations Lead, you'll own execution from day one, ensuring operations remain accurate, reliable, and efficient.
In your first 30 days, you'll run daily reconciliation of crypto and fiat across banks, payment facilitators, liquidity providers, and exchanges. You'll monitor live payment flows across on/off-ramp and payment rails, flagging stalled or failed transactions. You'll pick up exceptions—returns, rejects, recalls—and drive them to resolution. You'll map current workflows and identify one key improvement opportunity.
By 90 days, you'll own reconciliation and exception handling end-to-end across assigned rails and partners. You'll serve as an escalation point for payment issues, settlement delays, and failed conversions, partnering with Customer Support. You'll coordinate with Treasury on operating balances, prefunding, and rebalancing. You'll ship improvements to reconciliation systems, dashboards, and reporting, tracking KPIs like throughput, settlement latency, and exception rates. You'll build or rewrite SOPs and runbooks for your workflows, and implement at least one manual workflow reduction through automation or AI.
By 180 days, you'll scale the function by cutting manual work through automation and AI-enabled workflows. You'll partner with Product and GTM to launch new rails, partners, and corridors, defining acceptance criteria and validating settlement before go-live. You'll support product readiness and QA by turning Payment Operations requirements into clear specs. You'll build monitoring and alerting that catches problems before they reach customers.
Key challenges include reconciling crypto and fiat across many partners with different quirks and timing, diagnosing payment failures that span multiple systems, deciding when to escalate versus own a fix, building automation that scales with volume, and maintaining accuracy as new rails launch. The company is open to candidates across the US but prefers those in the NYC area or willing to work East Coast hours.
