Salary: USD 59,000 - 98,000 / annual

Neuralink is seeking a Pathology Specialist for its Anatomic Pathology and Histology team. The company develops brain-computer interface devices to restore movement to the paralyzed, restore sight to the blind, and revolutionize human-digital interaction. The Pathology Team evaluates macroscopic and microscopic tissue samples from preclinical studies. This role is central to the anatomic pathology pipeline, requiring technical expertise in necropsy procedures, histological processing, and laboratory operations. Key Responsibilities: - Independently perform animal necropsies and tissue grossing - Conduct histological processes including embedding, microtomy, staining, and advanced imaging - Operate and maintain high-throughput laboratory equipment, adjusting parameters for optimal outcomes - Document experimental findings and procedures in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and standard operating procedures - Collaborate with pathologists, veterinary medicine, and preclinical teams to ensure clarity and efficiency in study processes - Manage inventories and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials - Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment - Support cross-functional pathology cores as needed The role requires proactive problem-solving, independent task completion, ability to identify process improvements, and effective cross-organizational communication. Candidates should be enthusiastic about skill development and demonstrate competency in both anatomic pathology and histology cores. Required Qualifications: - At least 4 years of relevant experience in anatomic pathology - Proficiency in necropsy and grossing procedures within a regulatory-compliant environment, with minimal guidance - Familiarity with basic anatomy, physiology, and ability to recognize tissue abnormalities - Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams Preferred Qualifications: - BA/BS in Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, Neuroscience, or related field - Experience with histological techniques - Demonstrated ability to multitask and resolve complex issues with history of process improvements - Recognized by peers for domain knowledge and positive work culture contributions - Strong organizational skills and ability to lead by example Additional Requirements: - Ability to work flexible hours, including off-hours and weekends - Willingness to travel - Comfortable working in controlled laboratory environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, biohazardous materials, and chemicals including formalin - Ability to lift and maneuver up to 45 pounds for chemical waste management, repositioning large animals, and other physically demanding tasks
