Wave is building financial services for Africa, with a mission to make the continent cashless. The company operates a mobile money platform across 9 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, serving millions of users with no-fee banking, instant availability, and widespread merchant acceptance.
The Partner Operations Representative will be based in Ouagadougou and serve as a key operational bridge between Wave's support teams, product teams, and external payment partners. This role is central to maintaining the reliability and availability of bill payment integrations across Wave's customer, agent, and business applications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing operationally escalated cases from support teams
- Interpreting user data and communicating findings to partners
- Performing collections, forecasts, and reconciliations with follow-up analysis
- Maintaining clear communication with partners on issues, claims, and outages
- Escalating cases and outages appropriately
- Writing and shipping public announcements and communications
- Coordinating with support, product, and engineering teams
- Multitasking across bug fixes, claims, partner requests, and cross-departmental needs
- Communicating technical requirements clearly to engineering without intermediaries
The ideal candidate is resourceful, determined, and thrives on execution. They will support operations across all Wave operating companies and require fluency in English and a local language. A Bachelor's degree in IT or related field and 2-3 years of comparable experience are required. SQL competence, banking/fintech background, and mobile wallet experience are valued. The role demands strong organizational skills, autonomy, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work under pressure.
