Lumilens is building critical photonics infrastructure for AI supercomputing, developing high-speed optical interconnects and photonic engines. The company is Series B-funded and led by industry veterans.
You will serve as the Product Engineer responsible for end-to-end manufacturing oversight of optical transceiver products. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant cross-functional influence and accountability for product quality, yield, and cost.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning all manufacturing process changes under formal change control and QMS compliance
- Leading product yield, quality, and reliability as the primary customer contact for product delivery
- Maintaining accuracy of manufacturing BOMs and driving quality, productivity, and cost optimization
- Analyzing and executing continuous improvement initiatives targeting yield, cycle time, throughput, and scrap reduction
- Tracking manufacturing test results and ensuring specification compliance
- Developing and maintaining product documentation and specifications
- Collaborating with quality teams on qualification testing planning and execution
- Working with design and process engineering teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing (DFM) compliance
- Preparing comprehensive product and process reports with trend analysis
You will work closely with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal cross-functional teams in a geographically distributed environment, with international travel required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in high-volume optical transceiver manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with optical transceiver assembly processes (wire bond, die bond, active optical alignment, product testing, burn-in)
- In-depth technical knowledge of manufacturing BOM, yield analysis, and manufacturing process implementation
- Expertise in statistical process control (SPC), data analysis, and report generation
- Deep understanding of quality management systems and quality standards
- Experience with optics failure analysis (FA) processes and tools
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in geographically diverse cross-functional teams
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written), including presentation abilities
