Morpho is a leading decentralized finance (DeFi) lending protocol backed by top-tier crypto investors (a16z crypto, Paradigm, Coinbase Ventures, and others). The company operates an open credit network with over $1 billion in deposits, serving institutional clients like Bitwise, Galaxy, and Anchorage Digital, as well as major exchanges including Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken.
As Ops Manager for People Success, you will own the people infrastructure that enables Morpho's managers and team members to make autonomous, effective decisions without building a large centralized HR function. This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of people operations, general operations, and product thinking.
Key responsibilities include: owning the end-to-end onboarding experience across geographies and teams; maintaining people databases as a reliable single source of truth; structuring people data for AI accessibility to reduce manual requests; keeping compensation and incentives aligned with market practices; serving as the go-to resource for people-related questions; and converting recurring friction into better documentation, processes, or tooling that empower managers rather than create dependency.
Success metrics are clearly defined: by 30 days, you'll have met every manager and understand the current state of people data; by 3 months, onboarding is owned end-to-end with current content and you're the first point of contact for people questions; by 6 months, people databases are accurate and trusted, new joiners rate onboarding highly, and recurring friction has been systematically addressed through process or tooling improvements.
Required experience includes background in general operations (Chief of Staff, Ops Manager roles) or people operations, or as a leader who has directly owned people topics. You need strong analytical and modeling skills, a track record of earning trust across organizations including with senior stakeholders, and tech-savviness with new tools and automation. You should reason from first principles, value simplicity, understand and carry strong culture without reinventing it, and demonstrate strong ownership with low ego.
