As an Operations Specialist II in the Aerospace & Defense sector, you'll own the judgment calls that keep complex orders moving when situations fall outside standard procedures. You'll be a trusted individual contributor who acts independently on incomplete information, sources specialized coverage, and de-escalates customer situations without waiting for escalation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Independently initiate carrier traces for failed-to-load or unable-to-locate shipments
- Source driver coverage for any order segment, including oversized or specialized shipments
- Use bid/quote request tools to source specialized vehicles and provide cost estimates to customers
- Apply training and tenured knowledge to anticipate complications and solve proactively
- De-escalate most situations independently while knowing when to escalate
- Understand downstream impacts of decisions within an order
- Communicate proactively with customers, drivers, and agents throughout the shipment lifecycle
- Maintain required certifications for the aerospace & defense sector and stay current on compliance
- Identify and suggest system features or workflow improvements
- Meet sector-specific metric requirements and customer service standards
This role requires demonstrated success as an Operations Specialist I or equivalent experience in time-critical logistics. You'll be expected to master fundamentals and transition from reactive execution to proactive ownership.
