Salary: USD 65,000 - 80,000 / annual
Via is a transportation technology platform that powers modern public transit networks globally. As Operations Manager for Autonomous Vehicle Projects, you will lead daily field operations for Via's growing portfolio of autonomous and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) fleets, based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with regular onsite presence and monthly travel across US markets.
You will own end-to-end operational execution: managing fleet availability and safety compliance, making real-time decisions on service delivery, and ensuring accessibility standards are met for all riders. You'll analyze ridership data and fleet utilization to optimize service efficiency, translate community and rider feedback into operational improvements, and serve as the primary operational liaison between local partners, safety drivers, third-party operators, and Via's central teams.
Key responsibilities include running daily onsite operations to ensure safe and reliable service; triaging accessibility issues and WAV compliance challenges; leading driver onboarding and specialized safety/securement training across markets; building relationships with local disability advocates and transit partners; and maintaining proactive communication with AV partners and operators to resolve issues and meet service goals.
This is a high-ownership, field-based role requiring comfort with travel and hands-on problem-solving in live operational environments. You'll bridge local market needs with company-wide accessibility and service standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Background in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work
- Experience with paratransit, Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT), or WAV fleets strongly preferred
- Relationship-oriented with ability to earn trust from riders, advocates, teammates, and external partners
- Hands-on and proactive approach to understanding the end-to-end WAV rider journey
- Ability to triage live operational issues while building long-term processes for service quality and compliance
- Mission-driven commitment to equitable transit access
- Based in DFW area with ability to be onsite and in-office as needed
- Willingness to travel monthly to services across the United States
