Wayflyer is a fintech platform that provides rapid capital assessment and deployment to small businesses worldwide. The company has deployed over $6bn to thousands of businesses and is backed by Tier 1 banks including J.P. Morgan. With offices across Dublin, London, New York, Charlotte, Berlin, and Sydney, Wayflyer is scaling its operations globally.
In this Operations Manager role, you will drive operational efficiency across Underwriting, Product, and Sales by identifying and solving recurring systemic problems. Your core responsibilities include:
- Root-cause analysis of recurring bottlenecks: Define your own KPIs, source and analyze data independently, and present findings directly to Director and VP-level leadership.
- Build end-to-end workflow automations: Own the full lifecycle—scoping, building, testing, and launching—using tools like Jira, HubSpot, Pipedream, Tines, and Scriptrunner. Solutions should address entire business domains, not individual tickets.
- Manage cross-functional projects: Own relationships with Underwriting, Product & Engineering, and Sales teams globally. Identify and manage dependencies across business units.
- Shape team roadmap and mentor peers: Proactively surface inefficiencies spanning multiple business units and support teammate growth.
- Implement AI-powered workflows: Use Claude and Tines' AI Agent actions to build ticket triage, intelligent routing, and fraud-detection capabilities that extend existing systems.
This role offers clear growth paths: recent moves include Senior Operations Manager (owning a full domain), Product Ops/Automation Lead (deeper technical focus), or cross-functional leadership managing a small ops team.
You thrive by diagnosing root causes rather than escalating, doing your homework before asking for help, and bringing solutions not just questions. You're sharp on prioritization, distinguish between busy and useful work, and build strong working relationships. You care about diversity, equality, and inclusion.
Benefits include 25 days off plus public holidays, private healthcare, life insurance, pension, equity, generous parental leave, and 60 days annually to work remotely from anywhere.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally at a fast-paced start-up or scale-up
- Proven track record owning projects independently end-to-end
- Demonstrated experience scoping, building, and owning workflow automations end-to-end (Jira, HubSpot, Pipedream, Tines, Scriptrunner, or similar)—not just supporting them
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver solutions and managing stakeholders outside your own team
- Hands-on SQL experience (required)
- Knowledge of Python or another scripting language (required)
- Applied AI tools like Claude or Cursor to go from idea to working code or automation (required; used daily)
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or B2B is particularly valued
