Ordo is a fast-growing K-12 school food program delivering fresh, real food made with whole ingredients to students nationwide. As Operations Manager, you will be the single point of accountability for every school account you own, from contract signature through the entire partnership lifecycle. Your primary responsibility is ensuring account health: the lunch line operates smoothly, students enjoy the food, and schools realize tangible value from Ordo's service. You will have both ownership and latitude to solve problems and drive account success. Key Responsibilities: Launch & Onboarding: Design and own the school launch process from signed contract to first day of service. Coordinate with chefs on kitchen readiness and service logistics. Execute setup including staff training, system configuration, and communications. Set the tone for the entire year—the first week is critical. Ongoing Account Management: Own account health metrics including NPS, order volume, and retention. Monitor service quality and flag issues before escalation. Maintain strong relationships with school administrators and kitchen staff. Triage and resolve issues quickly; you are responsible for finding, tracking, and solving problems. You will travel approximately 25% annually (~65 days per year) for site visits, attending launch days, and being physically present when it matters. Much travel concentrates during back-to-school season (July–September). Required Qualifications & Experience: - Natural relationship manager who builds trust with clients, stays consistent under pressure, and is the person clients call when something goes wrong - Relentlessly detail-oriented: remember specifics of past conversations, notice inconsistencies, and follow through on commitments - Assertive but adaptable: hold firm when it matters and flex your style depending on audience (e.g., cautious district administrator vs. hands-on kitchen operations manager) - Comfortable with ambiguity: make good decisions without complete information and build process as you go - Strong communicator across channels: equally effective on phone, email, and in-person; clear, consistent, and deliberate - Willing to travel ~25% annually (approximately 65 days per year) - Startup-minded: experience working in or around high-growth companies, ideally where operations meet software
