As Day Ops Manager, you will be accountable for site performance during your shift across both on-the-road (OTR) and under-the-roof (UTR) operations at one of HIVED's depots. This is a hands-on leadership role embedded in day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead shift operations, managing Shift Managers, Coordinators, and Fleet Specialists to deliver exceptional OTR and UTR performance
- Receive handover from Night Manager and deliver handover to mid-Shift Manager
- Lead, inspire, develop, and performance-manage your team across the shift rotation
- Manage DSP (Delivery Service Partner) capacity, account relationships, and performance
- Oversee HIVED Partner Driver capacity planning and service level management
- Ensure legal compliance including hours-on-road, breaks, and safety checks
- Plan labour for the week ahead and manage day-to-day depot activities including sortation and preparation
- Drive succession planning and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop standards and operating procedures
- Own accountability for all on-road activities (driver capacity, compliance, SLA, delivery success) and in-depot activities (labour, safety, quality, cost)
The role operates on a 4 days on, 3 days off shift pattern, requiring one weekend day per rotation. You will report to the site leader (General Manager) and manage a team of 30–100+ staff via supervisors.

Requirements:
- 4–8 years' experience leading fast-paced OTR, dispatch, or last-mile operations
- Strong command of driver operations, route execution, and dispatch accuracy
- Hands-on shift leadership experience managing 30–100+ staff via supervisors
- Ability to lead and coach teams effectively
- High urgency mindset with strong communication and escalation habits
- Comfortable solving real-time operational pressure during peak windows
- Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management skills
