Fuse Energy is a venture-backed energy startup ($200M+ raised from Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, and others) building an integrated energy company that combines solar, batteries, hardware, grid infrastructure, AI, and distributed energy solutions sold directly to consumers. You will lead the launch of an entirely new business unit in Australia, based in Melbourne. This is not a traditional operations role—there is no playbook. You'll be a founding operator responsible for building core operations from scratch, including processes, systems, vendor relationships, and the operating rhythm that keeps the business running. Key responsibilities: - Set up core operations infrastructure for the Australian business unit (processes, systems, vendors) - Own critical launch workstreams end-to-end and drive them to completion with minimal direction - Build the operating rhythm, reporting frameworks, and KPIs that enable smooth scaling - Work across commercial, regulatory, finance, people, and customer functions as priorities shift - Identify bottlenecks quickly and implement solutions, whether through process design or hands-on execution - Manage relationships with partners, suppliers, and stakeholders across the Australian market - Serve as the primary link between the Australian team and Fuse's global leadership in London - Leverage data and AI tools to improve decision-making and eliminate manual work This is a high-ownership, fast-paced role with direct exposure to leadership and the opportunity to shape how Fuse operates in a new market. The pace is demanding and the role requires someone comfortable operating without structure and building it as you go. Requirements: - 1 to 10 years of experience in a demanding environment (investment banking, consulting, high-growth tech, or equivalent) - Strong academic record from a top university - Evidence of hard work and high standards - Exceptionally driven with high agency and a track record of making things happen - Sharp problem solver who can break down messy, ambiguous challenges - Comfortable operating without structure and building processes as you go - Clear communicator who can work effectively with stakeholders at every level
