Via is a transportation technology platform that powers modern public transit networks globally. As Operations Manager in Sacramento, you'll lead daily on-site operations for a transit service, ensuring safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for riders and communities.
You'll own real-time operational decisions across fleet management, driver supply, compliance, and rider experience. This is a high-ownership, boots-on-the-ground role requiring 4–5 days per week onsite. Key responsibilities include running smooth daily operations, making informed decisions about service delivery, guiding and supporting drivers, translating rider and community feedback into improvements, leveraging data to diagnose and solve problems, and serving as the operational bridge between city partners, drivers, and Via's central teams.
You'll need operational experience in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work. The ideal candidate is relationship-oriented, earning trust from drivers, riders, teammates, and city partners through clear communication and follow-through. You're hands-on and proactive, preferring to work in the field and solve problems where they occur. You balance tactical problem-solving with strategic thinking about long-term solutions.
