Upway is a fast-growing marketplace for refurbished e-bikes, having refurbished over 50,000 units in three years with a mission to make e-mobility accessible globally. Germany is now the company's largest market, and this role leads operations at the Stuttgart UpCenter, positioned to become Upway's largest facility worldwide.
As Operations Lead, you will own the complete operational flow of the Stuttgart UpCenter, managing all teams including middle management, setting team priorities, and overseeing the facility's P&L and operational targets. Key responsibilities include building and leading a strong team of managers, operations associates, and bike mechanics; defining targets, priorities, and strategy; owning budget and ensuring financial targets are met; analyzing data to identify optimization opportunities; designing and implementing processes to improve operational flow and financial efficiency; establishing tools and dashboards for accurate operational visibility; and collaborating across the company to support rapid growth and expansion.
You will be accountable for a complex operational scope in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial direct-to-consumer environment. The role requires deep involvement in process optimization, data analysis, and team leadership to deliver best-in-class customer experiences while scaling operations.
Required qualifications include 6+ years of operations, consulting, finance, or equivalent experience; strong academic background; fluency in German and English; excellent communication and leadership skills; superior problem-solving abilities with attention to detail; comfort in fast-paced, changing environments; and obsession with operational excellence.
