Kodiak Robotics is a leader in autonomous ground transportation, delivering freight daily across the southern United States using AI-powered self-driving technology. The company also develops autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense and became the first to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer in 2024.
As Operations Lead for the Command Center, you will serve as the on-shift leader responsible for coordinating live autonomous and human-assisted trucking operations. You'll ensure uninterrupted service delivery, proactive customer communication, and work closely with Operations Specialists, remote operators, and On-Site Support teams to maintain safe, efficient operations with minimal downtime.
Key responsibilities include:
**Technical Knowledge:** Serve as a subject matter expert across Command Center workflows. Develop deep command of monitoring tools, triage logic, playback analysis, and mission dynamics. Identify process gaps and drive workflow improvements. Provide high-quality operational insights to Engineering and Operations leadership.
**Execution:** Act as the primary escalation point during shifts. Guide prioritization, distribute workload, and ensure shift readiness. Coordinate responses during high-severity issues. Own recurring workflows including handover quality, CFH quality reviews, and SOP consistency. Lead initiatives that improve Command Center efficiency, reliability, or accuracy.
**Collaboration:** Mentor Operations Specialists and Fleet Specialists. Communicate effectively with Engineering, Field Techs, Drivers, and leadership. Drive timely updates during incidents. Provide input on scheduling, staffing, and training needs. Build strong team culture and operational discipline.
You'll work at the forefront of autonomous trucking, helping shape safety and compliance frameworks that define the industry. Your work directly contributes to real-world deployments, regulatory readiness, and safe scaling of breakthrough technology.
**Requirements:**
- 1+ years in logistics, dispatch, fleet operations, or command-center environments
- Proven experience coordinating on-shift teams or live operational logistics
- Strong understanding of operational control centers, dispatch coordination, or multi-route fleet management
- Proven ability to manage live operations, resolve escalations, and maintain composure under pressure
- Familiarity with transportation, logistics, or autonomous vehicle operations
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, safety protocols, and field coordination workflows
- Skilled at real-time decision-making and communication in high-pressure or customer-facing scenarios
- Ability to translate complex operational data into clear, actionable updates for internal and external stakeholders
