RQD Clearing is a modern, cloud-native clearing firm serving broker-dealers and fintech firms with clearing, custody, and execution solutions. The company is backed by ABN AMRO Bank and Nyca Partners and is finalizing Series B funding.
As an Operations Associate in Clearance & Settlement, you will manage daily clearing and settlement activity across the correspondent clearing platform, reporting to the Director of Operations. This role sits at the heart of RQD's operations, handling critical post-trade processes that ensure efficient and compliant market transactions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing daily clearance and settlement at DTC and NSCC, including CNS and non-CNS processing, trade-for-trade settlements, deliver orders, and exception resolution
- Monitoring and resolving fails to deliver/receive, including Reg SHO Rule 204 close-out obligations and buy-in processing
- Identifying and resolving possession/control issues, segregation problems, and margin deficits in coordination with Compliance and Risk teams
- Performing daily cash and position reconciliations between internal books, DTC, NSCC, and bank accounts; investigating and clearing breaks promptly
- Processing the full lifecycle of corporate actions (mandatory and voluntary), from announcements through post-event reconciliation
- Supporting correspondent broker-dealers with settlement, reconciliation, and asset servicing inquiries
- Supporting regulatory reporting, audits, and examinations related to operations
You will need a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field, plus 3–5 years of clearing and settlement operations experience at a broker-dealer, clearing firm, or custodian. Strong working knowledge of DTC and NSCC systems (CNS, settlement, position management) and corporate actions processing is essential. Experience with reconciliations, fails management, buy-ins, and deficit resolution is required. Understanding of Reg SHO, SEC Rules 15c3-3, and other relevant regulatory requirements is important. You should have exceptional attention to detail, ability to process high volumes accurately under daily deadlines, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Excel (SQL a plus). Series 99 or Series 7 licenses are a plus.
