Locus Robotics builds AI-powered autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) that optimize supply chain and warehouse operations. As an Onsite Support Engineer, you will be stationed at a customer location in North East, MD, serving as the primary technical and operational owner of the Locus robotic fleet. Your core responsibilities include proactive monitoring of robot health, system performance, and task execution to maximize uptime and operational stability. You will perform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs of robotic hardware and software systems as needed. Beyond reactive maintenance, you will optimize workflows to ensure throughput targets and key performance indicators (UPH, Lines Per Hour, utilization) are consistently achieved. You will conduct onsite testing and validation to support product development, providing structured feedback on system performance, usability, and edge cases discovered in real-world deployment. You will compile and analyze operational data to generate actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Acting as a liaison between customer operations and internal Locus teams, you will ensure clear communication of issues, priorities, and opportunities. You will also contribute to developing standard operating procedures, best practices, and playbooks that inform future deployments and scale the company's operational excellence. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. You need 1+ years of hands-on experience in warehouse operations, robotics, automation, or technical customer-facing roles. Familiarity with warehouse workflows, labor management, and productivity metrics is essential. You must have hands-on troubleshooting experience with hardware or software systems, or strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn quickly. You should have strong analytical skills, the ability to work effectively in fast-paced and ambiguous environments (particularly early-stage deployments), and proven cross-functional collaboration skills. Self-motivation, ownership, and accountability are critical. The role requires daily onsite presence Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM local time, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently bend, stoop, walk, and reach. Excellent English communication skills are required.
