Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an NX CAD Support Engineer to establish, maintain, and optimize the Siemens NX CAD environment supporting engineering and manufacturing teams. This role combines technical CAD administration with IT helpdesk support, ensuring designers and engineers have reliable, performant, and standardized tools to rapidly innovate on cutting-edge defense solutions.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing the NX CAD environment with templates, customization files, role-based configurations, and default settings across the organization. You will provide specialized technical support for CAD software applications (NX, SolidWorks) and manage the incoming IT helpdesk queue via Jira Service Desk, triaging and categorizing tickets for correct assignment. You'll resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support tickets related to CAD/PLM software issues while meeting established Service Level Agreements.
Additional duties include onboarding new hires by setting up CAD-capable workstations, user accounts, and software permissions; creating and maintaining user-facing self-service documentation and internal IT knowledge base articles; and providing technical leadership and structured training to engineering and design teams. You will mentor less experienced users and serve as the primary point of escalation for NX-related issues.
You'll coordinate configuration and improvement projects with engineering, manufacturing, IT, quality, and external service providers (Siemens), acting as the technical point of contact for significant CAD/PLM issues. You will lead or champion reliability, capability, and continuous improvement projects related to the CAD/PLM environment, quantifying benefits and implementing sustainable improvements. Compliance with site security, quality, and regulatory standards is essential, including assessing and mitigating operational and data-security risks related to the engineering toolset.
Required qualifications include an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Drafting/Design, or equivalent work experience. You need 2–4 years of IT helpdesk/technical support experience and 1–2 years supporting or directly using CAD platforms (NX, SolidWorks) in a professional environment. Working knowledge of interpreting NX logs and system logs is required, along with strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a patient, empathetic customer service approach.
Preferred qualifications include experience administering Teamcenter PLM, multi-skilled administration and configuration of Siemens NX with advanced troubleshooting across CAD, CAM, and CAE environments, experience configuring NX templates and standardized environments for multi-user deployments, and capability of obtaining U.S. Secret security clearance.
