Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer to join the Maritime team in Quonset Point, Rhode Island. The company develops next-generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) for seabed exploration and is executing multi-million-dollar contracts while scaling manufacturing globally.
In this role, you will own the successful launch of new products and product generations across Anduril's global manufacturing sites. You will serve as the critical bridge between the design and production teams, architecting and executing knowledge transfer from initial NPI/pilot sites through rate production facilities. Your primary mission is identifying, mitigating, and resolving process bottlenecks, managing project dependencies, and ensuring consistent operational knowledge across sites.
Key responsibilities include: owning configuration management decisions in the production system; championing Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for X (DFX) principles; designing and implementing standardized knowledge transfer frameworks with checklists, templates, and stage-gate reviews; coordinating cross-functional activities across engineering, supply chain, quality, and production teams; serving as the primary point of contact for assigned NPI programs; deeply embedding with teams from early development through initial production runs; facilitating cross-site collaboration through communication forums and technical reviews; mentoring engineers and technicians at receiving sites; managing engineering change workflows (ECR/ECO); and tracking risks and issues with appropriate escalation.
You will thrive in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment where creative problem-solving is essential. The ideal candidate demonstrates past ownership of operational challenges, has generated DFM/DFA/DFX design concepts, and can work flexibly to support product builds and testing under stringent quality standards.
