Ohalo Genetics, a plant breeding and agricultural technology company founded in 2019, is seeking a Network & Security Administrator to own day-to-day network infrastructure and security operations across its South San Francisco headquarters and satellite sites in Watsonville and Aptos. In this hands-on role, you will design, deploy, and maintain the Ubiquiti UniFi network ecosystem (switches, access points, gateways, UniFi Access for door control, and UniFi Protect for video surveillance) across all company locations. You'll manage WAN connectivity, wireless and wired networking, and core protocols (DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing, VPN) to ensure reliable connectivity for offices, labs, and field sites. Device and access management responsibilities include administering Hexnode UEM (MDM) for company devices—enrollment, policy enforcement, patching, and remote wipe—as well as Google Workspace administration for users, groups, and security settings. You'll own network and device documentation including policies, SOPs, and configuration records, and drive automation of recurring IT workflows using tools like Notion, Jira, and Slack. Security responsibilities span network segmentation, endpoint hardening, and the KnowBe4 security awareness program (phishing simulations, training campaigns, reporting). You'll support compliance efforts by maintaining security documentation and gathering audit evidence as the company's compliance needs grow. You'll work directly with the IT Manager on architecture decisions as Ohalo expands, troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues across diverse environments, and evaluate AI-assisted tools to reduce manual work. This is a primarily hands-on role in a lean IT team where you'll be the technical backbone keeping the organization connected and secure.
