Okta's Technology, Data, and Intelligence (TDI) Network Engineering team is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to own the full operational lifecycle, Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and availability for network services. Reporting to the Network Engineering Manager, you will manage global corporate network operations, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security at scale. Key responsibilities include: - Managing the full operational lifecycle and SLOs for network services, driving accountability and supporting scalable solutions in physical and virtual environments - Designing and developing automation and tooling by writing production-quality code to eliminate team-level toil and improve system efficiency - Collaborating with Workplace, TDI, Security, and other teams to resolve recurring incidents and improve IT network security - Maintaining fleet-wide consistency across software, configuration, and security while researching and implementing innovative network technologies - Participating in on-call rotation, applying structured troubleshooting during live incidents, and communicating engineering impacts to non-technical stakeholders Required qualifications: - 2+ years of professional experience in a related role with a Bachelor's degree (or advanced degree without experience) - Strong proficiency in writing production-quality code to automate repetitive tasks - Comprehensive understanding of core networking concepts (WiFi, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, ACLs, Routing, Firewall Policies) - Demonstrated experience with network device monitoring, alerting, and logging tools - Strong collaboration and communication skills Preferred experience includes Juniper/JUNOS switching/routing and Palo Alto Networks NGFWs.
